Hiztory Bookz is a publishing company established in 2020 with a primary focus on educating while entertaining readers of all ages on the history of the African diaspora through historical fiction. Based in Brooklyn, New York, Hiztory Bookz set the history of African American achievement as the cornerstone to branding books highlighting forgotten heroes and heroines from the past, including periods that span from ancient kingdoms and tribes to activists, political groups, sports, controversial figures and more! At Hiztory Bookz we have several publications, including Amazon best-seller The Adventures of C.A.M children’s series, Stuttering Henry, Big Brother and It’s Not Bedtime yet!. Additional achievements include publishing a play-turned-novel The Hologram Room and the first novel in Very Fine People. 
 
Hiztory Bookz was founded by writer, educator, and entrepreneur Henry Charles, Jr.  After teaching for nearly a decade in New York City schools, Charles noticed a significant void in books reflecting African American history. After penning the successful play, The Hologram Room, he was encouraged to continue writing to motivate students to read about and appreciate historical figures that looked like them. With familial support and student encouragement, Hiztory Bookz was created.

Today, Hiztory Bookz aims to educate and inspire students to become lovers of history, critical thinkers, and citizens who aspire to be the next great generation of change. Partnering with schools across the country, Hiztory Bookz is doing just that. We are proud of the products we produce, the community connections we are making, and the innovative path forward.
